OXAPAMPA: A PART OF EUROPE IN PERÚ


Have you ever imagined a Europe in the middle part of Peru?  you have it in Oxapampa.

Oxapampa. Today it is a mixture of customs and traditions, German, Austrian and Peruvian evident in its cuisine, dances and parties.

Oxapampa Santa Rosa was founded in 1891 by a group of German and Austrian settlers on the right bank Chontabamba. Its name means in Quechua Straw Pampa. In the town include the church and several buildings with European features.

Get ready to taste: good home cooking, breads, jams, the best coffee in the country, sausages, desserts as well mestizos banana strudel and a cane called Guarapo licorcito that is a delight. There are places to visit with the family, waterfalls that look like a paradise, a well-organized farms and reforestation areas. You can not miss the National Park Yanachaga Chemillen Yanesha and the Native Community.
